Retrovision is not a new name for us reviewers.
The French producer already showed us his talent with his various releases on Hexagon (Don Diablo’s label) and Mixmash (Laidback Luke’s label). However, today we don’t have a future house song to show you, but instead, a Trap song. Exactly, “Galaxy” is an experimental happy trap composition from Retrovision… A song that impressed us for its interesting approach, the 8-bit elements and obviously it’s magical happy feeling.

It is a signature characteristic of Retrovision music actually: most of his tunes have a positive and cheerful mood… This time this particular aspect is emphasized by a unique 8-bit lead, which gives a sci-fi mood to “Galaxy”! As a support, an unexpectedly energetic bassline and elegant violin chords add that spiciness that definitely convinced us.

We felt that presenting “Galaxy” was necessary. In a world full of generic trap releases, such an experimental and captivating release is a must-have… For every kind of fans, without the barriers of genres. Even if you don’t enjoy Trap, “Galaxy” is so interesting that we suggest checking it in any case.

The rhythm is slow, but the bassline is extremely powerful. The overall scheme seems really clear and cleverly crafted: every element is in its right spot, with a succession that doesn’t give space to chaos or confusing parts. Retrovision had an idea in his mind, and he managed to perfectly transmit it in his composition. It’s hard to describe it in a few lines, but approximately, “Galaxy” focuses on mixing a relaxed vibe (thanks to the chords and the 8-bit lead) with a strong system of percussions. Not a new technique, but with this kind of sounds, there is an evident feeling of futurism.

We are glad to see Retrovision experimenting in such an interesting way! “Galaxy” is definitively suggested, and we hope to hear more intriguing releases from this French talent!
