Revealed Artist KAAZE must love reworking songs, because today we have another delightful job from him to review! “Cast Away 2018” is the new production by the Swedish talent which has been released as a free download via Hardwell’s label “Revealed Recordings”.
After his reworks of “Mayhem“, “When The Sun Comes Down” and “Galvanize“, this time the modified song is “Cast Away“, always utilizing his progressive signature sound.
HHere I must open a funny parenthesis. I was sure that the original “Cast Away” was a famous classic (the melody was familiar to me, but I was sure to have heard it at least 10 years ago), so I spent 20 minutes of my life looking for the original in an ocean of 90’s and 00’s songs… After a while I realized that KAAZE himself created “Cast Away”, and he did it in 2014!
Anyway, the differences are not evident, this is a delicate yet efficient rework. The signature melody is the same (good choice, because it’s lovely). KAAZE worked more on the main lead, adding that energetic touch that he acquired in the recent years. Comparing the two versions is funny, we can clearly notice the evolution of this artist during the years. Needless to say that the quality was still clearly present back in 2014 and Tiësto can confirm it!
For us, the most interesting part of “Cast Away 2018” is the drop. A splendid and dynamic structure supports a massive KAAZE classic lead, developing a really enjoyable progressive production. Nothing particularly experimental (and that’s a con for us, we would have liked more risks), but that’s a wave of freshness infused into an already beautiful song!
In conclusion, “Cast Away 2018” is a good free download. It lacks a bit of that “spiciness” we always like to hear when compared to the 2014 version but it does its job, without risking a lot. KAAZE gave a nice gift to fans, and we appreciate it!
