After unveiling his first notable production of this year, “Astro 2.0”, the talented artist REGGIO has said refused for a hiatus and released another energetic dark progressive tune, which posses rigour and vibrancy like any other REGGIO’s exotic work. Named “Origins”, this robust release from TNC Recordings hits with the tenacity of a dynamite.
REGGIO needs no introduction; he further solidified the fact in the previous year that he was one of the best uprising artists in the scene! With tracks like “Crossfire”, “Shift” and “Universe”, he consistently proves that his unique and distinctive production sounds continue to be an enthralling experience to listen to. His genre is called “Dark Progressive”, because of the dark imprint of his melodic style.
“Origins” doesn’t stray away from vivacity. Right from the intro, the energy level peaks with an escalating intro consisting of necessary kick and percussion along with synths. The riser switches the pace of the track, playing with it to create more stamina. Automating the pace and pitch of the track adeptly, the riser gives away to the intensive drop. Introducing dynamic and dominant electro-progressive synths, the drop takes over with competence.
The melody played out by the drop synths have a usual dark progressive fashioned rhythm, but with more drive here. In few words, this segment of the track efficiently manages to embed the necessary dynamism and power.
It slightly reminds to Maurice West’s progressive tunes, but always keeping the classic REGGIO’s sounds… West is another artist to check, if you appreciate the genre!
The breakdown following the imperious drop steps in with a lot of emotions and zeal. Playing out the melody with an acoustic guitar, another flute-like synth comes in with a slightly melancholic melody, but nonetheless keeping the necessary tension. The saw synth materializes next, playing out in a snazzy manner. The riser follows afterwards, performing likewise to the first riser, making the drop impact with maximum potency.
In few words, “Origins” is quite meticulous and brings plethora of stamina on board to keep the listener grooving!
