It has been more than five decades since the exotic genre of dance music, disco, got extremely popular. During the years, it went on to invent new genres such as the famous French “Filter” house and nu-disco. Why are we talking about it today?
One of the interesting releases from this week by the notable French Producer ‘Mercer’ has major influences from erstwhile French House along with newer contemporary house music sounds.
Titled “Satisfy” and featuring the famous DJ and singer ‘Ron Caroll’, this relishing production revives a swanky feel when played.
Initiating with a groovy intro, disco-inspired synth sweep in with pizzazz, playing over a vibrant melody. The ensnaring vocal comes in after a few seconds, as the synths fade away underneath it. Ron Caroll’s voice imparts the 90s soulful tone to the whole breakdown. Its experience and talent really gave to the vocal part of “Satisfy” an incredible atmosphere! The drop comes in once again, keeping a similar style as the introductory segment of this production.
The second breakdown doesn’t deviate much from the first one, and follows a shorter version of the melody, while the vocal loops to keep a house-y feeling to the track.
Without many variations and complexity,“Satisfy” manages to impress well enough. The melodic attribute and the noteworthy filter effects on the elements give out an exotic effect. Mercer combined in a proficient way old-school sounds and its classic energetic style. Another great release to sum up the eventful January of 2018!
