Leo Reyes – Nighthawks

85/100

The second release of this year in Andrew Rayel’s prestigious label inHarmony music, is from a talented Canadian artist – Leo Reyes.”Nighthawks” re-introduces the signature progressive trance sounds on the label, with epic basslines and soaring melodies.

Premiered by Andrew Rayel on the trance mainstage in Tomorrowland 2017 as an ID, “Nighthawks” debuted the stage with quite some rigour. After almost six months of wait, this fantastic production finally sees the light of the day.

Starting with a kick and percussion in the intro, the track progresses towards the hulking and fierce electro intro drop. The first drop sweeps in with potent and power, introducing a razing electro mid-bassline synth and another synth playing out riffs alternately. As a trance fanatic, I would say it is a creative amalgamation of Anjuna beats/Enhanced progressive type intro drops with massive ASOT style.

Fading away, the intro drop gives away to tranquillity. Without much delay, another sharp classic trance synth precedes with the powerful and catchy melody. The riser sweeps in, escalating the track towards another brief riser which adroitly builds up to the main melodic drop. The synths from the breakdown intensify in this drop, along with a solid kick and bassline… Making the part capable to give the much deserved but unexpected climax to the listeners.

Summing up in a few words, “Nighthawks” has been crafted with precision, as it doesn’t lack behind compared to other great trance productions.
