For many EDM aficionados, the Ultra Miami of the year 2015 was quite special. That moment and that place signed the debut of “3 Are Legends” trio, composed by the notable duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, alongside the eminent American electro house producer Steve Aoki. They kick-started their energetic gig with a catchy progressive house tune, which caused quite the sensation for years to come. It remained an ID for a long time, and even further got a sumptuous and vivid vocal from Matthew Koma. However, this track rather stayed in the famous ID list, and by the time people were wondering whether it would ever see the light of the day, it finally did see it.
Released this Tuesday, “We Are Legends”** put an end to the protracted wait of many fans. Even though it got a major change in the vocals, this time featuring Oscar-nominated actress Abigail Breslin, who also happens to be a splendid vocalist. In my opinion, this fact enhances the charm and elegance of this particular track. However many fans expressed a mixed view towards this major change, but this version is quite perfect too.
Starting with an intense atmosphere, “We Are Legend” also puts in the luscious vocal of Abigail, who guides the breakdown. In the backdrop, various elements consisting of a grand piano, Arp synth and soaring pads together create an exotic and uplifting harmony for the vocal. The drop synths slowly come in, finally overtaking the vocal and rest of the breakdown components to introduce the brief riser.
The well known and energetic drop makes the impact once the riser rolls away perfectly.
The drop is amazing. It has the much-required festival vibes along with emotions. The slightly squealing electro synths play out an impressive melody, which instantly gets embedded in the brain. To add more to this imposing groove is the solid rushing progressive bassline, which adds the sparks to the fire. In overall, very exotic and alluring drop, which undoubtedly makes this track top notch.
Concluding, it would be fair to say its a fascinating and striking production from DVLM, Steve Aoki, and Abigail Breslin. If this track isn’t in your favourite playlists yet, then press the “Add To Playlist” button blindly on this release.
**- This release isn’t to be confused with another major release of 2017 from Hardwell and KAAZE, which is also coincidentally titled “We Are Legends”.
