The Australian DJ Thomas Olsen, better known by his stage name Tommy Trash is back with another deep house track, “Oxygen”! Featuring the LA-based singer/songwriter Daisy Guttridge, the duo works together, three months after their previous release together called “Sinners”.
“Oxygen”, the latest release on Spinnin Deep, is an exciting collaboration between Tommy and i_o. It tends to give the listener an experience full of serenity. The track begins with scintillating chords perfectly in harmony with the enchanting vocals.
The intro smoothly blends into the main section, leading up to the short build-up. During that part, “Oxygen” gets excitingly groovy at the drop, with the combination of the percussions, the gritty bassline and the vocals. Honestly, the melodic break is a personal favourite.
The relaxing melody topped with subtle noise and air sends the listener into a peaceful trance. Daisy Guttridge in this section adds her vibes to the calmness of the break, acting as a hypnotizing element. The vocal chops in certain sections of the track could’ve been truncated or faded out, as the repetition seems to become annoying gradually… However, this remains an interesting idea, as they are very emotional and sweet.
The producers of “Oxygen” made sure to keep the flow of the track throughout the course. This was achieved by incorporating a groovy bassline, catchy vocals and mesmerizing chords. Overall, “Oxygen” is a really good piece of work by Tommy Trash and i_o, and is definitely bound to give to the audience a calm and soothing experience.
