The noteworthy talented Belgo-Russian duo M11 have already released some remarkable tunes this year. The two artists are known for their unique soundset, focused on progressive trance genre… But this duo’s discography isn’t only limited to trance, they have also crafted groovy house music! In fact, with tunes like “In Our Own Minds” and “Fiji”, M11 proved their adeptness in other dance genres exclusive of trance. Their latest unpredictable creation is “More Than Friends”, a lovely “poppy” house track.
“More Than Friends” brings in summer house and laid back vibes. Initiating in a classy style, guitar and synths come in to build up a lush atmosphere for the oncoming luscious vocal. The vocal drops in few seconds after, alongside a vivid dance piano, cruising towards the rhythmic and catchy drop. Slowly building around the vocal, the casual and energetic future house fused drop comes in. Equipped with piano, and colourful future house synths, the drop manages to catch more attention after the groovy breakdown.
The drop goes away to bring in the second breakdown, which starts in the same fashion as the first one did. Keeping the few seconds after as instrumental, the subtle vocal gets reintroduced again. Once again, the combination of this expressive elements, the track handily develops towards the ending drop, thus finishing the track vibrantly.
Concluding, I would say the track has captivating components and definitely is an “Ear-Candy” without denial. M11 did a great job in this experimentation, creating something with personality, catchiness, and some good romanticism!
