Here we are with a massive Revealed Recordings ADE Sampler review!
I enjoyed this selection, maybe a bit less than 2016 one but still of talented names and good music.
I consider it more “aggressive” than usual, full of electro house and acid vibes. A positive or negative thing? That’s your choice.
Thomas Newson – Combat
***45/100***
Thomas slightly went out of radars during this year, and I’m afraid to confirm that “Combat” isn’t very interesting for me. The tribal idea is creative and interesting, but the drop just doesn’t catch my attention. The simple melody doesn’t help…
I loved the kick and the technical quality, but from Thomas Newson, I was expecting way more than that.
Kroshwell – Rocket
***50/100***
This is a shame because Kroshwell made a nice drop, but I didn’t appreciate the genericness of the break and the melody. The drop is huge, pure Kroshwell acid style, and I suggest to focus on it because it’s the best part. The break, as said, doesn’t bring anything new to the table: generic lead, catchy but uncreative melody, I really had to criticize it.
I’m still glad to see this young guy on Revealed, but his debut track doesn’t really show Kroshwell full potential.
Loax & Arcando – Move On
***82/100***
That’s the Loax groove I want! Together with the talented Arcando this collab is for me the most important in terms of names involved. I had high expectations because I love their music and honestly, I wasn’t disappointed. The break is delightful, with a wonderful voice and Arcando vocal style. In addition, the melody has been pretty catchy. The drop has Loax scheme and Arcando lead, exactly what I wanted. Even if the melody doesn’t make me crazy, that’s a majestic drop, groovy and powerful. In addition, I consider it a very balanced collab. There is a bit of Fonk in Revealed this year!
D3FAI and Kazden – Drift
***76/100***
D3FAI is slowly starting to amaze me. His dirty style is super interesting, like an Afrojack 2.0. “Drift” is an example of his talent, together with Kazden, the two producers created something fresh and creative. If I have to be honest, I wasn’t expecting that. The tune has D3FAI drop (needless to say) but a “darker” atmosphere than usual, really big-roomish, probably a Kazden idea. The break reminds me the legendary “Welcome To The Jungle” (please notice the roaring sound at 1.00), someone has to do a mashup of the two songs. Really appreciated!
Radiology & TripleL – Alive
***91/100***
Radiology outta nowhere!
I am underrating this superb duo, during 2017 they dropped masterpieces and I am not talking very much about them!
Together with TripL (another amazing producer, I suggest checking their “2U” remix), “Alive” delighted me with an elegant drop, a SUPREME RADIOLOGY MELODY and, a cherry on the top, a splendid vocal. Plus, the piano in the break together with the magic lead amazed me, I entered rewind mode. That’s the progressive I want to hear.
What a shame there is only “Alive” in the sampler, I would have liked more emotional house rather than so many electros…
Radiology definitively needs more exposition, this is their third 90+ track this year!
This was the part 1. Stay tuned for the second one!
