Let’s start the day with “Atlas”, a lovely future house tune by the young talent Mark Villa. The Dutch producer dropped another nice production, and I finally decided to give him a review.
Mark impressed me some time ago because of his young age (he’s 19 now) and his elegant style. “Atlas” reminds me the good old Oliver Heldens style (“Melody” in particular, because of the piano), but with more dynamism, more energy, and a creative melody type.
The melody is very interesting: not too much complex, fresh and solid, exactly the kind of future house melody I want. It follows a calm yet catchy scheme, helped by a great lead (Mark Villa signature sound, guys) and a strong kick. The overall effect is a bouncing but classy atmosphere, unique and interesting.
I loved the break too, simple but effective. The piano does its simple work, an easy choice but perfectly optimised.
With “Atlas” Mark Villa developed something between energetic and sophisticated, something that will make you relax without getting bored. That’s a beautiful example of professional yet emotional future house.
The only complaint I have to do is about the cover. I didn’t understand why the designers blurred the left part, is it a symbolic critic against the American continent? A stylistic choice? I’m confused.
What do you think?
