I’m really happy to present you this beautiful bass house production by 3rd Prototype & Daav One, “Top Of The World”!

The new Puregold release is unusual because of two main reasons: first, it’s the 50th release of the Austrian label, and second, it’s AWESOME. Exactly what it was needed for this special episode!

You can trust me, since I’m not a big bass house fan, but I’m still saying that. What I loved here are the creativity and the curious rhythm.
“Top Of The World”, in fact, seems slower than the usual bass tracks, but it’s tremendously entertaining.

Its rhythm is somehow unique, slow but hypnotic and ferocious… With a metaphor, I would say that it’s like an assembly line. Slow, but incredibly efficient, with every element added in a perfect progression. In fact, that’s the second main detail of the drop: the clearness and the ordinate scheme!

It can actually seem simple, which is wrong because the complexity level is pretty high, but I personally like it because every sequence is not chaotic as often is in bass house! Even if I’m sure it can sound weird, I would like to call it “sophisticated“.

That’s the point of strength of “Top Of The World”, the reason because I’m reviewing it even if it’s part of a world I’m not really into: its personality and elegance. Clashing against the bass house schemes, 3rd Prototype and Daav One actually created something less chaotic and noisy… Something calmer and tidier!
Well, “slightly” calmer to be precise, it’s still a powerful and aggressive track!

The break is really nice too, with an interesting vocal chop melody together with a pretty energetic electro base. The two elements fit perfectly together, and that part, even if pretty quickly, introduces us to the final drop. Awesome as much as the first one, obviously.

In the end, I loved it. “Top Of The World” does exactly what a special track should do: being special and interesting. 3rd Prototype and Daav One deserve my greatest compliments, and Puregold too, I really enjoyed it!
