Today we present something new for EDM Reviewer, a genre that we rarely listen to: rawstyle.
The renowned Dutch hardstyle producer Warface has returned just in a month to provide another engaging and uncommon track. “Welcome To Jungle” is a fast paced nail hitting track, with its distorted heavy kicks and driving synth and bassline.
Warface has been effectively producing a relatively newer sub-genre of the hardstyle genre, which has been termed as “Rawstyle”.This sub-genre includes heavily distorted kicks, darker or to rephrase, less “euphoric” kind of melodies. If you have a bit of experience of the “harder” side of EDM, then you can easily identify this genre to be more attached to the “Hardcore”.
Anyway, coming back to the point, the track kick starts with a crazy melody!
The synth which has been used for it is can be found in many other hardstyle tracks; very much metallic, almost a saw synth. The riser comes in with a tribal groove, swiftly bringing in the first drop with a notable impact.
The first drop includes a screeching, distorted synth riff (which are synonymous to Hardstyle and other hard genres) with a tough kick. The second part, however, has the classic pitching down effect of Kick, which adds an interesting variation to the same drop. The drop ends with a wobbly sounding synth.
A brief breakdown follows this drop just to bring in the same lead synth and melody that had cropped up at the very beginning of the track. However, there is a vocal chop with another lead synth.However, escalating the energy, the second drop hits in.
That part has rather rapid synth riffs giving it a more fast feeling.The synth used in this one has a different tone to it. The groove is really appreciable! A quick breakbeat version of the breakdown comes in but a surprise drop comes in to provide another last dosage of energy.
In a few words, this track is brimming with energy as expected from a hardstyle track, and the triple drop definitely was an imposer. Warface shows once again to be one of the best rawstyle producers out there, and I hope you will appreciate his work, even if uncommon.
