Rising for a good cause: Izeezus contributes his latest single to the Apex Legend’s charity with (RED)

• Heartwarming composition
• Included in Apex Legend’s charity event
• Calm intro, slowly piling energy

Imagine creating a soundtrack for your favorite video game. Crazy, right? In my case, it would be for Baldur’s Gate 3 (GOTY 2023); which I have been avidly playing in the past weeks, but for Izeezus, it’s the case of Apex Legends.

Even better, his latest track “Rising” has been published as the soundtrack for Apex Rising, a charity event from the mega-brand to raise as much money as possible to help fight AIDS and save lives by associating with (RED). It’s quite the milestone to both live the dream and help a noble cause!

So how’s “Rising”, frankly speaking?

A top-notch tune, equipped with a splendid chorus around the minute mark that culminates after a melodic breakdown— perhaps inspired by the sounds of Porter Robinson. As an admirer of this style, I couldn’t miss the opportunity for a comparison; here, Izeezus takes his time to build towards the climax. The first thirty seconds are minimal and calm, a complextro bassline growing silently while leaving plenty of room for the great vocals. Excellent performance here, full of warm and amiable hues.

The leads are delicate: we don’t have that kind of aggressive Future Bass in this case, rather it’s geared towards Dance Pop. Yet I felt that the outcome contained enough vibrancy to qualify as a danceable tune. The key part is the message it carries, one of hope and joy to uplift the listener’s mood. It leaves with a warm sensation, compelling one to smile at the experience they had.

So, Izeezus nailed this important performance with a beautiful tune: “Rising” is both entertaining and peaceful, and the craft that went here is deserving of praise. There’s so much passion involved!
