Asia Tours Everywhere

December 16, 20193 min read

Lately, we have noticed a peaking magnitude of Asian tours, especially in the Eastern nations like Malaysia, Japan, China… Producers are visiting the influential continents more and more often, and this has created some discontent amidst the European audience, who are constantly waiting for some dates in their respective nations.

Many of our Euro-centric readers kept asking us about why their favourite artists weren’t touring in their nations, and today we will try to form a unanimous answer to that question.

The reason underlying why many acts, prominent or not, are playing in Asian clubs is simple: the market is bountifully present there.

Asia began discovering European and American EDM only in the recent years for a number of reasons, an explosion that I’m afraid not going to trace or explore in this post for its intricacies. The EDM scene is exponentially growing in there, with the creation of new, enormous and well-funded events, and as an aftermath, the burgeoning demands for DJs. International and foreign names are highly requested because there aren’t many significant local figures around yet. There are many more conclusions, per se. The populous state of China, for example, has restricted Internet access, and they simply have found the means to know mise-en-scéne of the Dance music by this rather profitable methodology.

In European commonwealth, au contraire, a surplus of similar performers exist. Native entertainers have to compete with others, say rappers or singers, who might have more chance of getting invited, among the other denizens who specialise in doing such job for decades. The market is hence saturated and inundated to a large extent.

Thus, it seems natural to see an oncoming shift towards the locale who are discovering the niceties of the contemporary Electronic music, additionally having the high capitals and resources, along with an escalating amount of population who are willing to see some exotic brands. Asia is fiscally abundant, and art in any form often inclines towards the pecuniary aspects.

This is not necessarily a negative development for us, as Asia surely presents radiant opportunities for the musical scene, but the future is ever dynamic, and the disparaging opinions for the news are somewhat natural. We are sure that sooner or later, a certain equivalence will be achieved in the number of these events happening, globally!
