Among the various other releases by the renowned Dutch act Marc Benjamin has had on Protocol, his new single “Hooked”, featuring DNMKG & F51, is a funky and alluring type of track. Making his reputation with quality Progressive House records lately, the Netherlands based producer has also unveiled quality future bass and radio-friendly material.
The specific production we are talking about, has a good combination of summer vibes with a dash of progressive elements. Furthermore, the addition of charming vocals by F51 with it makes the song catchy and subtle. This sublime experimentation is certainly ear-candy with its alluring arrangements.
“Hooked” initiates with a vibrant and suave tone, thanks to the charming vocal. Along with that, the backdrop comprises ricocheting plucky synth-sound, as it rises throughout the playback. The addition of the guitar riff embeds the right amount of requisite summer-vibes, as the drop segment sails smooth with the easy-going cadence. While this might be termed generic, however, the involvement of the well-selected components makes this record a refreshing one.
To sum up in a few words, “Hooked” puts a check on the prerequisite ingredients for this particular genre of music, be it the leading vocal or the overall composition.
