Mike Williams – I Got You

January 30, 20192 min read

• Easily identifiable Mike Williams vibe
• Dynamic and powerful drops
• Portentous break

The EDM scene is saturated these days, and one of the most important qualities of every producer is to have a recognizable signature sound without staying repetitive. As you can imagine, this is not easy at all, but some people are still able to do so. One of them is Mike Williams, a guy that remains faithful to his roots yet being innovative in his new productions.

“I Got You” is his latest work, featuring an uncredited female vocalist. The tune starts in a really epic way, with a smooth piano and a really cool vocoded loop taken from the original vocal, creating a charming and emotional ambience. Just after that, we can hear the raw vocal and some airy synths and pads, composing a delicate and majestic break.

Following a regular structure, the build-up hypes us until the drop, where we can appreciate the full potential of this song. As we have been hearing in some of his most recent tracks, some massive chords take over the whole thing, crafting an elegant and emotional drop that doesn’t lose his signature bouncy feeling. I think I had said it in previews reviews, but I have to highlight again the dynamism that he gives to the drops adding little details as glitches or quick samples.

Mike Williams is one of the best young talents out there, and I’m glad to see that he continues improving and making good music. After starting the year like this, I’m really looking forward to the release of his next track, I’m pretty sure that it’ll also be a banger!
