Beyoncé – Halo (LeNERD & SAYVERE Remix)

January 24, 20192 min read

• Festival trap rework of a classic hit
• Yellow Claw drop style
• Unexpectedly short drop

Today I bring you some nostalgic and Yellow Clawish vibes. You read it right: this nice bootleg by LeNERD & SAYVERE slightly reminded me of the Dutch duo. The two producers from Singapore (residents at ZOUK) dropped a lovely festival trap remix of one of my favorite pop hits. When I was young, really young… I wasn’t aware of the existence of EDM, and I was listening to commercial radio songs. “Halo“, despite being far from my current tastes, always amazed me for the energy and the passion in Beyonce’s voice.

Now, LeNERD and SAYVERE brought back to me those good nostalgic memories, and they did it fantastically! I miss as well the 2015 Yellow Claw festival style, especially “Till It Hurts“, my favorite release by them. The drop and the overall structure of the “Halo” remix reminded me so much of that hit. Cheerful and energetic vocal, sudden dark twist, brutal drop. There is personality, and I’m sure that their fans will notice it during their live exhibitions. This “Halo” remix will show its full potentiality during festivals, because of its easily singable breakdown and the catchy drop.

My biggest struggle is with the lack of a second drop. The bootleg seems a bit unbalanced, with a long sung part and a rather short single drop, a detail that left me thirsty for more and more music… Nonetheless, I recommend this production, especially if you are going to play it live in a party or a club.
