Usually, we ignore songs that we don’t like, but this time you asked for it, so here we go.

“How Do You Love Me” is that kind of a “love it or hate it” song. EDM fans will hate it, while the part of people who listen to pop will be happy to hear Hardwell trying something more commercial. At least it’s on Spinnin’, great choice; good to know that Revealed Recordings is not involved in this thing.

We are openly against poppish songs: even if we understand that artists have to find a way to earn some money, we don’t like generic songs made just to be trending on Spotify and earn some revenues. They are forced, and often without personality, even though there are various exceptions when artists genuinely try to make something creative and exciting. It’s a personal opinion, of course, but in this case, we think that Hardwell is rich enough to avoid those things. As declared by him, he’s tired and stressed about his situation, so we think he’s merely trying to earn some bucks for his extended vacation.

As we respect this choice, on a personal level, we are deeply disappointed by “How Do You Love Me“. “Creatures of the Night,” even though it received a bad rating, was at least creative enough to earn some respect, presenting some Hardwell elements. “How Do You Love Me” is merely a standard base with absolutely nothing interesting to analyze. Soft percussions, a generic piano, a delicate standard lead in the riff and some more percussions used in other parts. It’s a regular pop base, like thousands released every day. Anonymous, emotionless, lazy. Those are our keywords. Catchy, sure, but its lack of passion and exciting elements disappointed us.

Conor Maynard is a great singer, his performance is good, and it’s the only thing that saves the track here. Snoop Dogg is slowly becoming a nightmare after becoming a legend in the hip-hop world, thanks to collaborations with basically every producer capable of paying his fee. The result is an impressive amount of random songs, more than 40 in the whole of 2018. We can include people like Gianluca Vacchi (this says everything) and Francesco Giglio (1500 monthly listeners on Spotify) in his collaboration catalog. We can’t take him seriously, come on. His performance is, as expected, forgettable: a few generic lines, without a single sign of effort.

There’s nothing wrong if you like “How Do You Love Me. However for us, this song exists solely to pay for Hardwell’s Christmas holidays.
