Syzz & Taku-Hero – Be My Love

November 2, 20182 min read

80/100

• Two different styles fitting well together
• Unexpected violin twist
• Bouncy Syzz drop

We are big fans of the Syzz bouncy style, and “Be My Love” is a good example of its interesting potentialities. This nice collaboration with the Japanese Taku-Hero (the creator of “Fun Lovin“, present in the Revealed Miami Sampler 2018) brings lots of freshness on Revealed Recordings… Thanks to an efficient combination between sweet romantical vibes (by Taku-Hero) and an aggressive electro house/future bounce hybrid (by Syzz).

Syzz are already two stable members of the Hardwell’s label roster: good releases like “Joker” and “Next Level” have sufficiently impressed the fanbase. In 2018 they released “90’s Better” in collaboration with Hard Lights, a bouncy funky tune that particularly charmed us. In its review, we wrote that we were hoping to hear this fresh style again: our request has been accomplished in “Be My Love”.

Wisely, the artists didn’t recycle the “90s” approach, but with the help of Taku-Hero, they developed a different breakdown. A gorgeous vocal, together with an elegant and happy base, creates a positive atmosphere. We liked how the carefree vibe slowly transitions into a more aggressive and dark mood in the buildup… Then Syzz shows the expected bouncy drop! It’s more electro house than future bounce, but there are elements from both genres: an intriguing idea!

The icing on the cake is the brief moment when the lead switches into an acute sequence of violins. Unexpected and elegant: it’s the right touch we were looking for! It’s the element that brought to “Be My Love” a deserved 80.

In conclusion, this sweet yet energetic production is more than good, for us. We are looking forward to new forms of this innovative style!
