Originality is always a good thing, and it’s even better nowadays because we have one of the most standard scenes in years. Today we will talk about a really different tune that, in my honest opinion, has an excellent quality yet being innovative and crazy.

“DROP” was created by Dr. Phunk, who has proven his versatility and talent so many times, and Lowriderz. After the poppish track that they released not so long ago, I’m happy to see them back into the right BPMs.

The ambience at the breaks is just great. The choir, together with a mysterious melody, creates a really spooky atmosphere that continues increasing its power until the drop comes. After a typical build-up that does its job well, we finally reach the point where all the magic happens.

I’m absolutely in love with the fill at the first drop. The synths seem to start playing but, suddenly, they disappear, and what you can hear is just a filtered kick, with a vocal saying “We miss the drop“. Just marvellous. Then you can listen to a massive kick, following a minimalistic but powerful structure during all the first drop.

The second drop also deserves a mention, because besides creating the expected drop with both kicks and leads playing, the artists managed to add a trap section at the end of it, making each part of this masterpiece genuine and different.

If you are tired of the typical stuff released nowadays, I really recommend you to take a listen to this. Both artists made a great job, delighting us with an amazing track that will not go unnoticed. As I said, try to play it at least once, I’m sure you won’t regret it!
