Gosh, that’s so fresh!
The new Magnificence & Julian Snijder smells of crisp, satisfying, wild futurism. Despite the generic title (we are physically tired of the words “Down”, “Low”, “Drop” and “Bass”), the trio lightened up this day with a fantastic release on Hardwell’s label Revealed Recordings.
“Drop It Low” is a groovy electro house tracks with a solid tribal imprint and a total dominance given to percussions. Solid structure, hypnotic (yet slightly predictable) vocal, a pinch of trap influence in the fills, and explosive bouncy drums! Extremely enjoyable, in our opinion!
It’s not a proper Revealed material, it’s rare to see this unusual genre there (even if Thomas Newson and Abel Ramos presented a couple of exceptions)… But we think it’s a great catch for the Dutch label! Magnificence is on fire lately, thanks to a splendid EP on Axtone (supported by Swedish House Mafia in their comeback set!). “Drop It Low” has a different approach, more “club-oriented“, so it’s not well suitable for Axwell’s label. Revealed is a good choice, especially because Magnificence had already a couple of progressive releases there in the past. Julian Snijder, au contraire, is a mysterious figure at the moment: this seems to be his first release, or at least we didn’t find any other production by him.
Anyway, “Drop It Low” is fresh, energetic and hypnotic. Julian Snijder has surely scored an awesome debut, and Magnificence confirmed their ability, even with unusual experiments. The collaboration will amaze you for its hypnotic rhythm, the unpredictableness, the metallic drums, and the capability to keep an impressive dynamism for the whole duration!
Unusual release, but excellent result!
