This Sunday we have something fresh by Timmo Hendriks and Playheart. Timmo Hendriks, whose initial career was focused on big room and electro switched to an amazing kind of groovy progressive house – “SIZE style”, just to be clear. With various releases on Armada Music, the Dutch talent is currently keeping amazing fans with this new fresh style.
Playheart, the second component of this collaboration, is a fantastic comeback for us, even though now it’s a single member and not a duo. We have reviewed “Lost Tonight” by them, our first 90+ Discovery Talents review and almost one year later, we can finally bring new music from this artist!
“Solace”, being direct, is a great song, we could very well see it on Steve Angello’s label! A groovy drop makes its introduction, adding a lot of energy with a vibrant bassline and a quite slow but efficient melody.
Then, a magnificent break convinced us. “Solace” break is a magical structure made of pauses, angelic voices, a mysterious climax and a lead that slowly rises in aggressiveness until it reaches a peak in the second drop.
If we really have to make an analogy, “Solace” presents a similar personality to the legendary “Check This Out” by Still Young and Michael Brun, despite being way more sweet and delicate. Anyway, we loved it. The lack of a vocal is an important characteristic here, but we are convinced that the duo managed to create such an interesting break that will require various listening sessions to fully understand.
Playheart is back after ten months, Timmo Hendriks dropped our favorite groovy release… In conclusion, “Solace”, dear fans, is unmissable.
