The super combination Breathe Carolina + Dropgun + Kaleena Zanders means two things: classic reworks and explosive bouncy drops! The group is back again on Spinnin’ Records with “Sweet Dreams” (a clear tribute to La Bouche’s hit) and we loved it!

The tune is a kind of follow-up of their previous collab “Rhythm Is A Dancer, having almost the same structure and idea. The two releases are actually really similar, but “Sweet Dreams” in our opinion brings the dynamism and the catchiness of this style on another level. We had way more fun while listening to it, this time! Obviously, we suggest going to check the previous song for a better understanding of the review.

“Sweet Dreams” doesn’t actually contain any element of the famous hit, except for the lyrics.  This is not a rework, but a full new production with new vibes and emotions (and the original words). Kaleena Zanders showed again her wonderful voice, with that pinch of vibrant and emotional passion that amazed us in the past.

In addition, Breathe Carolina and Dropgun created, as a support, a wonderful break. As already said, it’s similar to “Rhythm Is A Dancer”, with a funky rhythm and an old-school classy mood. A piano lead, delicate yet full of energy, is the dominant element.

Then, Dropgun showed some fire. It wasn’t totally unexpected, because using sudden drops is a common technique by them, but we loved the unpredictable idea! A strong, brutal, aggressive, bouncing future bounce drops smashes the fragile balance of “Sweet Dreams”, breaking the magical mood of the lead. Dropgun at their finest, monsieur.

“Rhythm Is A Dancer” was a good release. “Sweet Dreams” takes the same path and structure, but adds an interesting elegance and an even more explosive drop to the overall result. We are extremely satisfied.
