Narcotic” melody may be familiar to a lot of you. Released in 1998 by the German group “Liquido”, that song is one of the most famous hits of the late 90’s.

Today we present an excellent rework by the Croatian duo Radiology together with 9lives, Polish. The trio created a fantastic progressive house version of “Narcotic”! Even if it’s a bit old for our standards (published almost three weeks ago), we think it needs to be reviewed as well… It truly left us speechless.

Radiology are two of the most underrated artists in the progressive house scene, with various releases on Revealed Recordings (they were the “Mad World” contest winners), while the mysterious 9lives showed some incredible progressive skills recently with a crazy “Be There” bootleg with Skytone.

Both artists make awesome progressive house. Add a legendary melody to the combination, and the result was necessary one of the best reworks of the current year!

The dynamism of “Narcotic 2018”, the vibrant bassline (energetic and impressive, but still with the delicate Radiology touch), THAT MELODY, the sweet vocal… It’s hard to use words in those moments. It’s just magic.

Few things to add there. That’s progressive house at its finest, 9lives and Radiology showed an incredible amount of talents in few, difficult, simple steps. The lead is perfect: keeping the vintage mood of the original one, but reprogrammed in a 9lives approach, not too aggressive, but energetic enough. The points of strength, as already said, is the clever bassline, and that melody complete the work.

“Narcotic” is a splendid song, but Liquido never thought to see such a quality and passion in a hypothetical rework. We hope they will find this version, and enjoy it as much as we did.
