“Fuego” is a new banger by KURA and Olly James, two of the most active Revealed producers last year. The long-awaited collaboration doesn’t shine for creativity but still presents itself as an explosive tune, ready to light up clubs and festivals.
Why we consider “Fuego” interesting for a review?
Its drop is quite particular, presenting the classic KURA acid sounds, in a different perspective. Instead of a melodic approach, the two producers experimented with a “mournful” drop. Massive, aggressive and quite particular…
Needless to say, this was a great idea. This particular style has already been used by a couple of other producers (for example, Crankdat in his “Graves & Coolights – Say Things” Re-crank and by Stoltenhoff & Cesqeaux in “You Already Know”) but never in a big room style. The English and Portuguese artists redacted the idea in a different context and it worked very well! In addition, the tribal fills and the secondary trap drop are delightful add-ons to the overall structure!
This interesting drop is equilibrated by the genericness of the break. That’s the part we didn’t appreciate much… It has a catchy melody, and the right amount of energy, but doesn’t shine for its personality and creativity! However, the sirens of a fire engine added to the intro were a really nice idea!
In conclusion, the two artists worked well together. “Fuego” is more of a ‘KURA style’ track, but Olly James added his own influence as well. Good release, especially if you are looking for something energetic yet particular!
