Tom Staar ft. Matt Hope – Come Together

February 11, 20181 min read

85/100

The 100th Axtone release is a splendid tune by Tom Staar and Matt Hope. “Come Together” is a celebrative progressive banger that shines in the sky with its elegance and emotions. The choice by Axwell to not participate in this important milestone is arguable, but while listening to “Come Together”, we understood his decision.

First of all, the tune fits perfectly with Axtone’s classic style, from the vocal, to the drop. It’s a reasonable choice, and its beautiful and elegant atmosphere is sensational. In addition, with this release, Axtone wants to show that every release is important, not just one with a catalogue number ending with 2 zeros.

It’s a risky but splendid decision.

Anyway, let’s get back to music. “Come Together” presents a beautiful vocal by Matt Hope. It’s repetitive, but luckily the desired effect is obtained: a sweet and hypnotic loop. The tune reminds us of the classic Axwell style: entertaining progressive drop, vibrant bassline and a simple melody. It’s a release that Axtone fans will surely love. In addition, the orchestral and cinematic break (slow but heavily helped by Matt Hope’s perfect performance) is a little piece of art.

In conclusion, this special release satisfied our desires. Despite the absence of Axwell, Axtone celebrated this milestone in a great way!

Special mention to the splendid artwork: it features pics from the fans with Axtone’s producers, a really nice idea!
