RIVERO – Down Dirty

77/100

After his first release of the year “Shadow” along with HIDDN, talented DJ/Producer Rivero has unveiled his subsequent work titled “Dirty Down”. Premiered in 350th Episode of Hardwell’s eminent podcast “Hardwell On Air”, this release embeds surprising attributes. “Down Dirty” can be earmarked as an electro house production. However, there are some unique components in the track which make it more distinctive and aggressive.

The synth selection on this particular production is impressive. The drop has an energetic bouncy tone to it because of the drop synths. On the other hand, the bassline showcases wobble synths, which adds to the bouncy character of the drop. The melody of the drop follows a simple pattern, which more or less can be related to a future house/bounce melody.

Following the drop, the breakdown starts with a dirty saw synth playing out a riff. Iterating for a few more times, a snare loop comes in the background, playing out with the synth. The synth ends abruptly afterwards, as the final riser sweeps in after the teaser and adeptly brings in the second drop.

Summarising, it’s undeniable that “Down Dirty” has both elemental dynamics and peppiness. However, the brief and truncated breakdown is not compensated by its catchiness. Nevertheless, an interesting release by Revealed from Rivero!
