2012’s marvelous pop song “Sex Yeah” by Welsh singer ‘Marina & The Diamonds’ got a fantastic late reboot from talented producer Wilson Shaw, hailing from London. The reboot tries to revamp the original into more of an energetic deep house production.
Making the original track catchier and vivid, Wilson Shaw has certainly ensured the remix is as striking as the original. With a laid-back deep house style, the remix embeds a flamboyant groove to the enchanting vocal from Marina & The Diamonds.
Starting with a chiming synth and hi-hats, the luscious vocal comes in along with a rhythmic deep bassline, gliding along with it. The drop that follows the ear-catchy breakdown is even more satisfactory and delightful. Consisting of jazzy trumpet and a relishing bassline, the drop even with minimal attribute impressed me quite well. It’s catchy, hynpotic, and quite a particular personality. I must admit that the melody sounds minimalistic, but Wilson Shaw built the drop in a way that makes impossible to consider his “Sex Yeah” remix too simple.
In conclusion, it would be fair to say this remix is quite captivating, and it surely has a striking pizzazz.
