With every artist closing this year with a splendid release, Don Diablo too didn’t leave the opportunity to craft a catchy tune for this Christmas. Its new hit is titled “You Can’t Change Me”.
With releases like “Save A Little Love” and “Momentum“, the Dutch future house producer didn’t fail to prove again that he is adept and creative in his job. His label, Hexagon, did quite well this year with its energetic and fresh releases.
“You Can’t Change Me” is slightly unique and yet has an imprint of Don Diablo’s hallmark Future house sounds and progression. The track initiates with a luscious female vocal, with a stiff electro bassline in the backdrop, helping the vocal create an appreciable rhythm. Bright dance piano comes in with nice chords, adding more vividness. Slowly the tension rises and the riser comes in, leading to fading away from the vocal and introducing an exotic yet elegant future house synth.
The synth that comes next can’t be described in a precise way… It has that recognisable strange and house-y feeling sound, but in this case, Don Diablo seems to have added more creative effects on it to make it sound fresh and lively. The vocal comes in again, with a brief snare riser to finally let the drop come in smoothly.
The drop consists of the same lead from the breakdown, but more intensified to add more power. A groovy bassline comes with the lead synths, providing more strength and harmonics to result in something captivating for the ears. Even if the drop follows a slower pace, it compensates the required energy and makes the overall track even better.
Concluding, “You Can’t Change Me” is a sumptuous and a satisfactory release from Don Diablo, and this certainly promises that 2018 will be another fantastic year for “Hexagonians”!
