KURA – Skank

The Portuguese powerhouse artist Kura has once again come back with another energetic electro house tune to conclude this year, titled “Skank”.

After a couple of future bass releases and two notable exotic (Bangalore and Calcutta) big room house productions, “Skank” is set to be released on Revealed again. This would be his 4th release in Hardwell’s esteemed label. Plus, obviously, two collaborations with Hardwell himself!

“Skank”, as usual, is equipped with the elements you can expect from Kura’s works. Starting with the breakdown; this part features a unique trumpet lead, which gives a dirty and aggressive festival vibe to the track. The melody which is played out has a special tone, thanks to the distinctive lead synth. A vocal shot and some percussions come into the breakdown to increase the excitement and playfulness. A typical riser comes in just after this, escalating the breakdown to the kinetic drop.

The drop brings in typical synths Kura uses in most of his drops, with a slight variation. The melody, however, is analogous to other drop melodies, following a distinct pace and pattern. However, a difference comes in when the melody changes its pitch and plays out a different variation of the same drop melody. A genuine idea, nonetheless.

In overall, the track might not be the best from Kura, but once again solidifies the fact that the Portuguese producer has his own exclusive production style and progression. “Skank” promises to be an explosive tune within the genre boundaries.
