As Halloween atmosphere intensifies, there have been some interesting releases to further set this mood. Spooky music always has been an integral part of Halloween parties. Thibault, aims to keep a spine-chilling atmosphere in his latest production Haunts. The music keeps a theme of the upcoming TV series, Stranger Things, whose season 2 came out a couple of days ago.
The track is originally a bass house tune with a lot of elements to keep the excitement. Starting with a simplistic intro, a squeaking synth comes in. The intro subsides to a short breakdown, featuring claps and percussion. Smoothly the breakdown leads up to the powerful groovy drop.
The drop features a strong deep bass, played in offbeat with a tribal rhythm, keeping the house groove beside. The drop quickly changes the pace to a trap in second 8 bars of the drop.
The drop subsidies to the second breakdown, which again starts with the squeaking synth and pads to make it atmospheric. A chiming pluck comes in, playing a catchy melody. Quickly picking up speed, the riser comes in, and rapidly brings in the heavy drop.
My conclusions on this production would be that it keeps a dynamic balance between atmospheric mystical tone and fierce bass heavy drop. Quite a splendid production by Thibault!
