Showland ADE Sampler

October 23, 20173 min read

One of the most notable Armada’s sub-labels, ShowLand, just dropped a quality ADE sampler for this special week. ShowLand releases are known for their signature groovy sound, usually funky and house-y.

There is sum total of nine well-produced tunes from different artists, and from which I would like to highlight the ones which I felt were the best.
Before starting, I would give a general summary of the overall selections in the ADE Sampler. The genres that were mainly covered were future house including bass house and future bass.

1- Will Fast — Another Way

A perfectly made groovy tune in the sampler. Crafted by the Swedish talent Will Fast, I found this tune to be a fine mixture of future house, with a leaner towards club groove. Featuring plucky synths and rhythmic percussion, this track is definitely energetic. Minimal, yet fantastic.

2. Rhannes, Sedate — Slip & Slide

An easy-going bass house tune. Going at a slower pace than a usual bass house tune would be, but definitely impressive. The drop has been equipped with classic wobble synths, but nonetheless, it strikes up quite a groove. The breakdown features an appreciable melody played over a chiming plucky synth. A breakbeat develops to slightly increment energy, leading to the spry drop again.
This was the most aggressive tune from this sampler for me.

3. FootriX, Falco — Pika Life

This tune instantly became my most favourite from the sampler. A catchy, happy future house tune. The breakdown contains chiming house-y plucks, creating a unique happy vibe. Introducing another synth to intensify, the breakdown slowly glides into the drop.
The drop is a more typical future house drop, but again the melody is the real deal for me. Happy-ish, a bit sentimental but nonetheless an ear candy. The combination of synths used is quite satisfying.
A vivid house track, which I relished the most.

4. Dany Deimos — Omi

Emotional and slightly leaning towards epic attribute, this progressive and bit house-y track caught my attention. A subtle production by the Belarus talent Dany Deimos, this track keeps a progressive lean, with strings and pads, and lovely vocal sample. The drop is pretty impressive too, playing out an ear-catchy melody, and the synths reminded me a bit of Don Diablo. Its genre could be described as “soft future house”. Overall, the tune keeps a lovely atmosphere and is ingenious, catchy and relaxing.

That was the top 4 tracks, which I suppose were our favourite from the sampler overall. I felt that this sampler was a bit generic, but had some charming, groovy tunes you can expect from this fine label. Giving a number would be slightly unfair, still out of 100, I would go for 78. This sampler certainly lives up to expectations.
