Hardwell & Afrojack – Hands Up ft. MC Ambush

Here we are! “Hands Up” is one of the biggest collaborations of the year, between the renowned Dutch powerhouses Hardwell and Afrojack, together with the singer MC Ambush. Both artists have left a significant and momentous imprint on dance music, hence the hype was really high. It has been 6 months since Afrojack first played it in Omnia Nightclub, and since then has been speculated as a powerful collaboration.

Well, the wait is over, and I am really impressed after listening to this exceptional tune. “Hands Up” starts with a groovy intro, with snares and FXs in the backdrop, energetically leading to the fast riser, and finally MC Ambush’s voice materializing as pre-drop vocal, perfectly making the kinetic drop impact.

The drop is both curious and expected, since it is unique, but with both artist styles inside. The drop synths are quite squeaky and high-pitched… Needless to say that it’s because of Afrojack. He always goes for those acid dirty sounds… The drop doesn’t display any other complex elements, and to be honest, at first it seemed a bit strange to me, but as it started kicking in my head, I immediately fell in love with the drop. With percussion coming in (including the famous Hardwell snares), the drop is just ingenious! A nice combination of the two styles, even if Afrojack is clearly the dominator here.

As if the track didn’t impress me enough, the breakdown nailed it! More an “Hardwell break”, with aclassic big room style, it was perfect icing on a cake. After a few seconds of silence, the electro supersaw synths glides in smoothly, playing over an ear-catchy melody, and leads over to the drop.

Final Verdict? Just Fantastic! I am very sure this track gonna get stuck to every electro house fanatic out there. I’m afraid to admit that 3 years ago “Hands Up” would have been the hit of the year, and 2017 isn’t the best for moment for its, release, but I liked the courage of the producers. Dropping such an extreme and aggressive song is not very easy!

Marvelous production, just open up your favorite streaming preference and hit that play button on this track!
