Time to review another amazing track! This time I want to show you “Safe House” by the hardstyle talent Dr Phunk, a tune I appreciated very much.
“Safe House” is melodic and emotional, quite a surprise since we are used to more aggressive stuff from the Dutch artist. I can’t complain, obviously, because the output is stunning. It reminds me Atmozfears style, and since he’s another Revealed artist, I’m pretty sure he quite influenced Dr. Phunk.
First of all, the vocal is splendid. I would have loved to see the singer credited because he made a majestic job! Dr Phunk helped him with a soft yet energetic base, quite simple but so effective! The melody is superb, catchy, melodic and emotional, accompanied by a strong and delightful lead.
The drop is like gold to my ears: it has the perfect balance between power (thanks to the kick) and emotions. It’s not super creative, a classic emotional hardstyle track, but in this genre being original is almost impossible. The easy way (or better, if you really want to hear a joke, and I know you want it, the “safe” way) to impress the fans is to make a good track, and Dr Phunk did it!
