86/100
As the year of 2017 passes, with fall nearly in time, I can say without much reluctance that trance genre has got some remarkable tunes this year. There have been countless impressive tracks, and the one I am going to talk about today also finds its way to the A-List. “Last To Leave” is a splendid tune from the eminent progressive trance producer Alexander Popov and the Belgian upcoming Duo M11, who already have released in the prestigious Armada label.
Alexander Popov needs no introduction to any trance devotee like me. He has over the years released magnificent tracks that have just left me with no words. Just give a listen to his latest track “People” on Armind, and you will be amazed at how wonderfully he co-related the domains of bass house and progressive trance! M11, on another hand, have already released on the Showland label, which happens to be the label of the well known Russian trio Swanky Tunes. None the less, they too have shown some real talent in their tracks, which I would recommend you guys to listen.
Now coming back to point: “Last To Leave” is progressive trance too, but leaning towards big room trance sub genre.
The track features epic melody without any compromise of stamina.
The intro contains kick and some subtle pads in the backdrop, slowly escalating to the hard hitting electro drop. The riser comes in with a hint of melody and vox majestically as it brings up the drop.
Electro synths and sharp basslines undertake the drop, with rapid synth riffs keeping a fast pace. Percussion comes in to substantiate the groove further, finally fading away to the euphoric breakdown.
The breakdown starts with soaring string and pads, swaying and keeping the tension in the atmosphere. The lead gets in, and impressive progression, intesifies to pause just in time to bring in the heavy saw synths. The Supersaws exhibit the imposing melody in a grandiose moment, before giving away to the riser which leads to another hulking drop.
The main drop incorporates dominant electro basslines buzzing with energy, giving way to the outro.
My conclusions would be that this track is certainly fantastic and top notch. Take a listen and you will claim the exact same.
