GARMIANI – Fogo (Feat. Julimar Santos)

It took a while before finally impressing me, but the new GARMIANI production is quite interesting!
“Fogo” is the new single from the Swedish producer, an energetic and creative song released by Spinnin’ Records.

I had some difficulties when categorizing “Fogo” under a specific genre (there are reggae-ish, tribal and electro elements together), but since Beatport says “Electro House”, I will consider that genre.

The song immediately hits you with its catchy rhythm, his tropical style, his bouncing atmosphere and the fantastic vocal by Julimer Santos. As every GARMIANI song, there is always a hypnotic and energetic vocal part, and this time I particularly loved it. Why? Well, because “Fogo” has a really good personality.

It’s a summer track, so instead of a generic vocal, there is an almost reggaeton one, perfectly connected. Even the base in the break is well related to the atmosphere, thanks to a catchy flute and a melodic banjo (probably).

The drop is the part that disappointed me initially. Yes, it’s catchy, that’s why I’m reviewing it, but too similar to Wiwek style, and at first I wasn’t satisfied with the melody. Then, after a couple of days, I started appreciating that crazy synth and that bouncing bass! “Fogo” magically became really enjoyable!
I still consider the lead composed by two frying pans beaten together, so not really elegant… But the final effect is energetic and cool, so… Good one GARMIANI!
