Dannic X Rob & Jack – Bring Di Fire

Dannic’s label, Fonk Recordings, has a new release, “Bring Di Fire”! We are glad to have some fresh music on the new Spinnin’ sublabel (it was an independent company till a couple of months ago). The rhythm of the releases has slowed down, but the quality has undoubtedly improved!

“Bring Di Fire” has a lot of personality, thanks to Rob & Jack’s ability to fit their particular style to Dannic’s groovy mood. Well balanced, rich of surprises, with a lack of personality in the break’s vocal but, for us, pros are more than cons. You may know this Swedish duo because of their previous remix for Dannic’s track “Light The Sky”… Their approach to EDM is more tribal/groovy-oriented, with various releases on Armada, Code Red (if you know the label, you can understand well their musical structure) and Refune. They are two of the most important elements of the North-European groovy scene.

Dannic, is the stable boss of groovy electro house. He doesn’t really need an introduction, we have spoken about him various times… Basically, every Fonk release presents a similar concept of his mentality: electro house imprint, much importance given to drums and percussions, hypnotic rhythm with a certain energy.

The trio has a very compatible style, and “Bring Di Fire” is a perfect demonstration of the same. It’s a song with a very balanced drop: acid imprint over a bouncy and aggressive bassline. It’s made for making you jump and dance over a wild and particular mood, dynamic and explosive! We are not huge fans of the vocal, unfortunately (repetitive and overused lyrics, even though it’s distorted in a creative way)…

In fact, we considered the break quite forgettable and not a breaking news in Fonk’s catalogue. It’s fair to add that “Bring Di Fire” drop is one of the freshest of the month, a real concentrate of power, creativity, and catchiness. The collab is definitively enjoyable, a great result from two names that showed their skills various times in the past and didn’t disappoint today.
