Imagine picking up an old school Progressive House structure. Swedish House Mafia’s type, being precise. Add a sprinkle of summer freshness, some slight poppish vibes, and a sweet lead. Then proceed with the vocal of one of the most important vocalists around, Chris Willis.
“Back Against The Wall” is that: an awesome progressive track that blinks an eye to 2013’s music but brings summer vibes with a fresh personality. B-Funky is the author, Chris Willis (the singer of many of Guetta’s super hits) is the collaborator, and the result is extraordinary!
The Dutch producer B-Funky is a versatile artist, with many releases spacing from big room to bass house. However, on a couple of occasions, he showed a particular progressive house style, and that’s what we are focusing on today. That’s the case of “Showdown“ and ”Turn Off The Lights“, two lovely productions that, even if 3 and 4 years old, show in the right way the talent of this experienced artist.
Chris Willis is another experienced artist. The American singer, in the past years, worked on many legendary tracks, especially with the star David Guetta. Tunes like “Gettin’ Over” or “Love Is Gone” need no introduction. His voice is simply special.
Today, the duo teamed up for this great release on SHKDWN Records. “Back Against The Wall” is summer-oriented and presents a lot of relaxing vibes in the break. In particular, we found some similarities, if we can dare to make such an important comparison, with “Save The World” by Swedish House Mafia. B-Funky added a more relaxing and joyful touch, a happy drop, making the tracks more focused on “make the listener chill”. A wise idea, being the summer season already started!
Chris Willis didn’t disappoint, as always, with a fantastic and passionate performance! The icing on the cake is his splendid vocal, rightly valorized by B-Funky’s base!
In conclusion, “Back Against The Wall” is the right tune for a progressive summer, in our opinion!
