SWACQ – Kayos Ft. Jordiz

February 4, 20182 min read

81/100

The uprising French musician SWACQ hasn’t stopped creating hulking big room and this year he certainly seems determined to develop his sounds and embed even more creativity in his songs. Releasing his first track of this year along with another talented Dutch producer, Jordiz, ‘Kayos’ is yet another energetic tune on Tiesto’s eminent label ‘Musical Freedom’.

Twenty seventeen proved to be an important year for SWACQ. Releasing his industrious song ‘Love’ on Protocol Recordings (which also got a splendid edit from the owner, Nicky Romero), he further took it to the next level when his new productions were featured on Tiesto’s fifth Clublife Volume, China. He collaborated not once, but twice with the Dutch superstar Tiësto to create ‘Sumos’ and another featuring the talented John Christian, titled ‘Brolab’.

‘Kayos’ promises to keep rigour and groove at the same time, without forgetting some creativity.

Initiating with the hallmark big room rhythm, the track escalates with vigour and introduces the riser. The riser slowly brings up the typical Big Room synths, as it steps up for the first drop to impact with zeal.

The first drop presents a dirty and aggressive melody assisted with festival toned Electro house synths, keeping a perfect swing and stamina. Another interesting attribute of the drop is how it abruptly changes to a chiming and sonorous bell-like pluck sound, inserting in some interesting kinetic variations. Onto the next segment of this peppy track, the breakdown, which sweeps in with a set of new elements to add to the dynamism. Transforming the track to a totally tribal theme, it starts with an offbeat instrument playing out a funky melody. The vocal comes in, introducing more peppiness. This transition in the song proves to be an interesting combination. The second drop doesn’t delay much in coming in, as the well-paced riser sweeps up the speed of the track to let the final drop impact strongly.

Summarizing, ‘Kayos’ has an impressive amount of tenacity! It definitely guarantees to cause chaos in festivals and clubs.
