EDM is a global phenomenon that has been contributed by a monumental amount of creative artists. Usually, artists of one genre want to join forces with producers from all over the world to create memorable productions, or in this attempt fail and move on. This being said, I will take this opportunity to show some of the most unexpected synergies of this year!
Gesaffelstein’s comeback with ROSALÍA
Let’s begin with a song that was released in January. I must admit this remix came out of nowhere (and it is official, search Spotify). Gesaffelstein, known often as the domineer in Industrial and dark Techno music, has broken his hiatus to show what he has been up to lately. This is one of my secret gems from this year, and an irrefutable way of showing how much reach the Electronic genre has.
Idris Elba on mau5trap?!
You probably half-expected this one knowing the renowned British actor has roots as a DJ, but it is very intriguing to see him on labels such as mau5trap. He joined forces with Jay Robinson to present a solid House tune that further impressed Idris’ fans as he displayed his vocal flair on this production. Impressive right? Its hypnotic melody with combination of a charming voice achieved as one of the most unanticipated team-ups of 2020.
Vin Diesel is fast but not furious
Although Vin Diesel is your typical rough and tough guy on-screen, he has a splendid and impressive personality. If you didn’t happen to know, he explored his musical facet recently with a Tropical House tune in Kygo’s label. This by far is one of his most personal creation ever done due to its composition along with the heartwarming vocals from the mentioned actor. With this, he dispelled the fact that he is another generic protagonist in action films, radiating good feelings with this single!
