LBLVNC – Insatiable (feat. Vindon)

December 24, 20192 min read

• Dark, enigmatic atmosphere
• Reggaeish-influenced vocal minus the clichés
• Pleasantly distorted bassline

LBLVNC is a French talent, whose workmanship found me some time ago in the occasion of a remix contest of Skan’s hits “No Glory“. His methodology in constructing basslines are simply fabulous, and during the previous months I preferred his aggressive trap. He often presents interesting concepts, and I highly recommend visiting his creations on any streaming portals if you are keen on discovering unusual and creative sounds.

Anyway, this time the Tribal Trap artist released a very head-bopping banger, “Insatiable”, featuring the quality vocal from Vindon. He’s an established Jamaican singer, who already has performed various trap collaborations with reputable artists such as Barren Gates and Boypanda. His slight inclination towards Reggaish temperament is clearly noticeable, but LBLVNC breaks the platitudes by using a tenebrous, yet elegant base avoiding the obvious and more exotic approach. “Insatiable” works specifically towards building a climax, utilizing a cinematic bassline and an angelic chorus during its peak.

There isn’t a proper and segmented “drop section“, but rather a more energetic segment where all the elements (vocal, chorus and bass) are concentrated together. This choice is intriguing: even if the presence of the distorted bassline adds a lot of chaos to the mixdown, I somehow felt that this was the right choice, considering the vocal and the base. “Insatiable” is greedy of climax: an adept illusion of ever-escalating shepard tone, exciting the listener with its Stygian ambience, but never killing the suspense.

I think that this experiment worked well: I felt profoundly delightful with this experience, and absolutely suggest to check out this marvellous Tribal Trap release!
