• Captivating triplet structure & melody
• Perfect balance between his old & new style

WRITTEN BY OUR FAN ISHUKA. THANK YOU!

Mark Sixma has been the powerhouse in the Trance scene for more than a decade. His recent release celebrates his tenth year in Armada Music. His diversity lies around the variety of trance he can produce, from vocal ones like “Restless Hearts” (with Emma Hewitt) & “Cupid’s Casuality” (with Amba Shepherd) to tantalizing Big Room like “Requiem“. Furthermore, he also has crafted progressive/tech trance with his alternate-alias M6. Also, his uplifting records like “Character” are noteworthy. This luminary Dutchman can accomplish at any style he wants to!

Throughout the years, Sixma’s sound evolved from Tech styled to Big Room, with his recent collaboration ‘The Bass’ being an exception. His recognition even reached outside the Trance scene, with extensive support from heavyweights like Hardwell and collaborating with leading artist KSHMR. “X” represents a landmark in his unique discography, and feels like mixture of all the experimentations he has done so far.

This production starts off with a similar pattern blended with a triplet scheme. This isn’t the first time he is trying triplet arrangement. He already tried it with his remix of “Off The Hook” and his own release “The Clock”. This section is then followed up by some rumbling electro bassline, something common in the Progressive side of Trance. The breakdown is stunning, giving a space-themed interstellar vibe. Here, we can notice the classic Sixma lead sound, enhancing the melodic tune more than usual, making this more uplifting than his usual recent singles. A combination like this can work wonders in festivals, leaving the crowds hypnotic and dazed. The main climax also has that rhythmic and elevating schematic, which resembles his past songs. We then witness the ending, with the enticing electro techy bassline and the triplet cadence embedded with the outro.

Overall, “X” is a captivating, beautiful & distinctive approach towards modern Trance, also bringing in nostalgia with the classic elements. We congratulate Mark Sixma for celebrating 10 wonderful years under Armada Music, and are excited about his upcoming productions
