78/100

• Simplistic arrangements
• Charming vocal hooks
• Creative mix of Tech and House elements

The second week of December has even newer music to talk about, however in this article, we will be talking about the latest record crafted by the talented British artist Elderbrook, who has a solid reputation for his productions in the contemporary scene. Titled as “Old Friend“, this tantalizing work proves to rhythmic and ear-grabbing at the same time.

Last year was a breakthrough for the London based producer, as his collaboration with dynamic native duo Camelphat proved to be a huge success. “Cola” instantly got rapport in the dance-floor, from both heavyweights and the audience continuously. The song was a creative mix between harmonic vocal by Elderbrook himself, combined with the dominant instrumental. What made the beat even exclusive, was its minimal yet robust arrangements in it. Today’s subject of this article keeps the distinguishable tone from “Cola”, and yet manages to be fresh for the ears.

Starting with the enticing vocals from Elderbrook, the song adds to the harmonics with a repetitive but catchy melody. Without introducing much complexity, this segment of the track leads up to the drop with swiftness. This drop draws parallel with the same tech house sound, featuring shuffling bassline and riff-ing synth as a companion to the backdrop. Added to this is percussion,
which embeds the spiciness throughout the playback.

Summing up, it will be wise to say Elderbrook’s newest work is a radio-hit, also capable to impress all club audiences alike.
