Mesto – Give Me Love

July 15, 20183 min read

77/100

• Presence of Mesto’s signature schematics and sound, and some surprises
• Features a catchy-enough melody with energetic drop segment
• Slightly similar to Brooks’ “Lynx”, it manages to deliver energy

Another Friday has arrived duly on time with the revelation of new tracks, including one from none other than the Dutch prodigy Mesto himself. Showing his dedication and consistency, the youngster continues to deliver, as this is the third production from him for this year. Released in the eminent label of Musical Freedom, this tune re-focuses on the signature style he is best known for, including the fresh vibe one could expect from his crafts.

Titled “Give Me Love”, this release is another delectable future bounce track for this month.

A few weeks ago we saw the renowned Dutch native Jay Hardway collaborate with Mesto, and the results of their hard work are truly impressive. “Save Me” came out on 15th of June, and joined the signature sound of the two in a proficient way. Featuring an alluring vocal snippet, the breakdown harmonized with it and welcomed the shuffling drop, which demonstrated Mesto’s sound selection ability. Only a few days after, hints about his incoming track spread fast, with one of the major reason being the honourable début of the single by Tiesto on his EDC Mexico set. Till date, it has already garnered support from heavyweights of this industry, including David Guetta and W&W.

The vibrant breakdown inaugurates the track after the brief intro segment, and brings in with itself the familiar pluck synth. Lingering with the backdrop, the melody works well enough to earn the title of being “catchy” and “ear-candy”. But the drop steps up the energy level and dynamics, as the swirling synths lead the sonorous and rhythmic bassline. On the side-note, we felt there was some similarity with “Lynx”, produced by the talented Dutchman Brooks. One explanation could be the similar preset used on synths, and the rest could be termed as coincidence. However, this fact does not let the dance-ability of this song to falter from any aspect.

“Give Me Love”, even with a slightly generic name, manages to impress the ears to some extent, but the preceding single unequivocally scores better. Nonetheless, Mesto, sure enough, has more to reveal for this eventful year.
