The day has finally arrived! Finally, two heavyweights in the electro/big room house scene joined forces. This long-awaited production, crafted by the veteran Dutch duo Blasterjaxx and the adept English DJ/Producer Olly James, “Phoenix” contains all the necessary firepower to strike with an inimitable intensity and power.

After being first premiered back in 2014 by Blasterjaxx, on their set of “Mega Hit Kings” festival in Portugal, the ID got immensely popular among the big room lovers. Fans kept on biting their nails, waiting for this humongous release, but by end of 2017, Olly James finally declared that the wait was over.

“Phoenix” has immense mainstage electro house vibes in it. With a catchy melody to a nifty aggressive drop, “Phoenix” keeps the dynamism adroitly. Starting slickly with a groovy intro, consisting with a solid kick and percussion, the intro glides and further introduces two more synths, one playing coming up slowly underneath and the other plucky synth playing out excerpts of the main melody. Finally, the intro smoothly transitions into the massive first breakdown.

The breakdown without delay sets up a sublime atmosphere for the incoming melody.

A blip sounding synth comes in playing out the catchy melody, chiming with energy. With a brief sweep, the sharp saw synths come in playing out the melody with gusto. The riser follows after it, slowly bringing up the drop synths, and at a steady pace, the riser fades away to the hulking drop.

The drop strikes with an unexpected amount of energy and stamina. Along with intense electro-house synths and a major bassline, the dynamic melody moves the drop with a shattering groove. Another noteworthy thing to mention would be the interesting pattern of playing out the melody! There are two alternating power synths, thus giving the melody a different twist and flavour. Any big room house connoisseur would remark about the drop as “Mainstage & Epic”. I too, wouldn’t deviate from saying that!

January has already brought in marvellous tracks, and “Phoenix”, without a shade of doubt, is in the A-list of releases of 2018.
