A song for the inner kids: LUM!X experiments with “Kids Like Us” and he’s great also in the commercial arena

• Excellent vocals
• Guitars as lead, with progressive drops
• Truly experimental as underground meets pop

A wunderkind, LUM!X is quite young (21) yet already packing millions of streams, several platinums and golds, and on my favorite list for having revived Bounce music with Gabry Ponte, making an impact in the otherwise saturated scene. You know the guy’s a game-changer when only after a few releases from him, half the scene has started cloning his style.

Let’s see what we have got in “Kids Like Us“: it’s a pop tune with hints of progressive sound in the drop, created by the Italo-Austrian producer with the collective LUCiD & FRiENDS, whose members have worked with the likes of Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Marshmello, Kendrick Lamar and so on. It is positively impressive, as there’s a true passion present in the desire to genuinely explore new avenues without trying too hard to please the masses. LUM!X engineered an idea he had in mind with guitars and immaculate vocals, and what comes out is abundant with a genuine touch and sincerity.

The vocals are fascinating- children’s chorus are always heartfelt- and LUM!X paired them with a breezy guitar first, and then a Progressive drop with a calming, serene melody. I rarely hear such as synergy between the two instruments; a real work of art! LUCiD & FRiENDS, in addition, supply a kaleidoscopic range of voices that enrich every instant.

So, there’s the pop I want to hear EDM talents. Not just easy, watered-down stuff with the excuse “I want to try something new”, but one where the underground meets radio-friendly themes with the same (if not more) attention to details. I see great things for LUM!X if he retains such bold creativity, and hopefully in other directions too.
