The renowned prodigy Arcando concluded 2017 with a proficient production titled “Don’t Say That”, which also features a luscious vocal from talented vocalist Jaki Nelson. The track follows an intense chill-trap style, which reminisced me of the signature “Jack Ü” style productions.

What I really relished about “Don’t Say That” was its sumptuous balance between the splendid vocal and the catchy instrumental playing in the backdrop. The track commences with an emotional atmosphere, slowly bringing in the vocal. With a chill and laid back groove, the breakdown effectively manages to catch attention. Escalating the tone, the vocal intensifies a bit, as a steadily paced riser perfectly forms a transition to the vivid drop.

The drop brings in more interesting elements to the track. It features a robust metallic bass pluck, which can be described as synonymous to a deep house pluck. The melody in the drop follows a very catchy and energetic pattern; successive triplet notes hitting in succession. Also to put the icing on the cake, alluring vocal chops alternately play, making the drop more ear-candy and lively. The drop certainly does match up to the impressive breakdown, with its delightful bassline and rhythmic progression.

Nonetheless, it would be justified to say that this release is undoubtedly appealing. Arcando once again proved that he knows the recipe to craft tracks other than his usual enthralling electro-house releases.
