Gritty emotional depth: “Anymore” is the melodic dubstep I want to hear

• Great balance of pop-rock emotion and dark growls
Eileen Jaime delivers a standout vocal performance
• Grittier drop than your standard festival fare

Kevin Moffat is really carving out a specific niche for himself. For “Anymore”, he brings in Eileen Jaime, and the result is a massive experience that reminds me why I liked melodic dubstep in the first place.

The track starts off slow with a vibrant future bass structure and a very emotional opening segment. To be honest, I was expecting a more commercial, softer take, maybe something in that polished Illenium style that everyone tries to copy. Instead, the drop introduces us to a very solid dubstep twist that hits much harder than I anticipated. It is grittier, heavier, and just feels more authentic.

What really impressed me was the overall mix of styles. You have that pop-rock emotional side that defines the best melodic dubstep, but it is paired with darker growls and technical elements that give the song a real backbone. Eileen Jaime’s vocal is the glue here, fitting perfectly into the atmosphere without being overshadowed by the production. It is rare to find a track that feels this balanced while still maintaining a strong personality.

If I had to nitpick, the transition into the second verse felt a little abrupt, but it is a minor thing in an otherwise stellar production. It is great to see Kevin staying true to a heavier sound while keeping the melody front and center.

In short, “Anymore” is exactly what the genre needs right now. It is emotional but tough, and it shows that Kevin Moffat knows how to keep things interesting without selling out for a radio hit. Definitely keeping this one on repeat.
