• Unexpected synergy between Don Diablo, Chri$tian Gate$, and Wiz Khalifa
• Classic pizzicato leads meet futuristic sound design
• Wiz Khalifa actually fits the vibe instead of being a forced feature
This is easily one of the most unexpected collaborations I have seen in a minute. We have got three massive names – Don Diablo, the Future House pioneer, Chri$tian Gate$ with his unmistakable voice, and Wiz Khalifa himself. Honestly, I was a bit worried this would just be another boring pop hit designed for the radio, but I was terribly wrong.
I am very satisfied with the base of this track. Don Diablo really went back to his roots here, using a pizzicato, futuristic lead that is softly supported by a signature future house bass. It has that classic Don vibe that made me fall in love with his sound years ago, but it still feels fresh. Chri$tian Gate$ delivers a perfect vocal performance, as we have come to expect from him. It fits the party vibe perfectly while adding a certain dreamy touch to the mix.
The real surprise for me was Wiz Khalifa. Usually, when you see a rapper on an EDM track, it feels disconnected – like they just dropped a random rap hook at the two-thirds mark and called it a day. But Wiz actually acted in the main riff and used his iconic laugh as a fill, alternating with Chri$tian Gate$ throughout the song. It is a solid, natural performance that does not break the flow. I can’t really decide who I like more in this trio because I was positively impressed by everyone.
In short, “Go Home With A Stranger” smells like a great spring hit and it definitely deserves the success. This is an excellent comeback from an inspired Don Diablo, showing that he can still dominate the genre he helped build. Everything from the “less is more” arrangement to the vocal interplay works fittingly.
