The darker twist I was waiting for! Fox Stevenson finally dropped the VIP version of “Tryhard”

• Underground energy with a playful edge
• Bass House groove that keeps evolving
• Vocals still carrying the whole ride

Like a blessing from the sky, Fox Stevenson finally dropped the VIP version of “Tryhard”, originally released a few months ago on his album SUNK COST FALLACY, and honestly, I could not be happier.

The original track already stood out thanks to its lyrics and DFox’s vocal performance, which were widely praised as one of the highlights of the album. I agreed on the quality, but I will admit the vibe leaned a bit too pop-ish for my personal taste. That was clearly part of the concept, mixing Fox’s playful writing with more EDM friendly sounds, but when I saw a VIP version coming with more underground elements, I was instantly curious.

So how is this “Tryhard” VIP twist?

Crazy. Just as expected.

It opens with that trumpet and a joyful, almost farsesque mood, then suddenly dives into a deeper bass that kicks hard and starts bending the vocal in all the right ways. The wobbling Bass House groove slowly takes over, adding movement and tension, and before you realize it, the track has shifted into something much darker and heavier.

The buildup brings the light back for a moment, then the final drop explodes. A synth flute plays with the bass in this weird mix of joy and chaos, and the whole section feels unpredictable but strangely controlled. It is not always easy to follow every turn this VIP takes, but the warm vocal stays there as your anchor, guiding you through all the madness.

What I really love here is how natural this feels for Fox Stevenson. We are used to his creative approach to EDM, and after such a successful album, hearing him push these ideas even further makes perfect sense. This is not a simple remix or a louder version. It is a proper reinterpretation.

In short, “Tryhard VIP” is exactly the version I was hoping for. More underground, more dynamic, and still full of personality. An excellent blend of vibes, and a great reminder of what creativity in electronic music can sound like when it is done right.
